Helen Diane Ehnat

Diane Ehnat

(Helen) Diane Ehnat was born in Burt, Washington on May 10, 1928 and passed away peacefully on October 5,  2017 after a long illness from stroke induced dementia in Shoreline, Washington. Called by Helen in her immediate family, she was known as Diane to her husband and the world. The daughter of Douglas and Florence Pravitz, she is survived by her three children Robert, Valerie, and Felicia, son in law Kevin, her three grandchildren Nicole, Courtney and Sophia and siblings Leon and De’Ette.

Diane graduated from Langley High School in 1945.  While a student, she met her husband Bob, a young navy seaman, at a USO dance and found the love of her life. They were married in 1947 and had a marriage that spanned 67 years. A loving wife and mother she also had a successful 20 year career with Pacific NW Bell where she rose from the position of telephone operator to Data Systems Staff Manager. Retiring in 1983, she spent her years traveling the world with her husband and doting on her children and grandchildren.

A loving mother, grandmother, friend, traveler, and seamstress, she delighted socializing with her friends and family, always interested in their adventures and ready to regale who ever she met with stories about the people she loved.

We shall miss her.

She will be interned with her Bob on October 30th at the Tahoma National Cemetery.

A memorial reception will follow at Druid’s Taphouse & Restaurant starting at 3PM. Druid’s is located in Covington, WA, off of Highway 18 and just west of Lake Sawyer near Maple Valley.

The family asks that instead of flowers a donation be made in Diane’s memory to Evergreen Hospice Care,  Smiles International, or  Operation Smile.
