Buck passed away at Swedish Hospital in hospice care after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was born in Yakima, WA, the youngest of seven brothers and sisters. After graduating high school, he moved to Seattle and worked at Leed’s shoe store. He was a proud member of the armed forces and served in the Korean war. After the war, he continued selling shoes and eventually ran his own store in West Seattle.
His passions were baseball and bowling. He coached women’s softball for many years and was a diehard Mariner’s fan. Buck bowled in leagues for over 50 years, which is where he met the love of his life, Dee. His family and fur babies were his greatest pride and joy. He was a true friend and always ready to lend a helping hand. With a perpetual twinkle in his eye, he could talk your ear off with stories for hours.
Buck is survived by his beloved wife, Dee, son Tyler (Jenn), daughter Jennifer (Reece), daughter Nicola (Stephanie), granddaughters Emily, Tatiana, and Kiara, brother Richard (Nadene), many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, as well as his cherished fur babies, Bear and Suki.
In lieu of flowers, mementos, or gifts, please consider honoring him by making a donation in his name to the Swedish Cancer Institute.
