Dan Flanagan

Dan passed away peacefully on January 6, 2018 at the age of 90.

He grew up in Salt Lake City. During WWII he served in the navy.

After moving to Seattle, Dan opened Flanagan’s Automotive on Capital Hill where he operated for many years. Active with the Automotive Service Association, Dan was highly involved to help upgrade the industry.

Dan was a private pilot; he loved the time he spent flying his Beechcraft Debonair.

Proud of his Irish heritage, Dan and Joan were honored to have been grand marshals for the St. Patrick’s parade in 2013. Dan and Joan are charter members of St. Matthew Catholic Church.

Preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Lila, and brother Bernard, Dan is survived by Joan, his wife of 65 years, and his sister Lila Carusillo.

Dan loved his family more than anything else: his children Therese (Dan) Evans, Eileen (John) Gray, Brian (Imelda), Julie (Matt) McElroy, Kevin (Hollind), 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Services will be on Saturday, January 20 at 11:00 am at St. Matthew, 1240 NE 127th, Seattle.
