Kathleen Frances (“Kate”) Murray passed away suddenly when being treated for breathing difficulties at the hospital ER near her home in Newcastle, WA on October 17, 2018.
She was born in Hays, KS in 1984, and grew up in Topeka, graduating from Topeka West High school in 2002. She then majored in sociology at various colleges and universities and received her Masters degree from Eastern Washington State University in Everett, WA. She then became a social worker for the State of Washington based in the Seattle office.
She had a great sense of humor and leaves many friends around the country in the various places she lived before moving to Newcastle. She also loved animals, especially dogs, cats and horses.
She will be greatly missed by her friends and family which is spread through Kansas and New England, especially her mother, Wynona Murray, father, Francis (“Brien”) Murray, step mother Suzanne Murray and sisters Megan Shoemaker and Julie Nelson as well as her Hawthorne and Murray families.
Memorial services will be held in the spring, locations yet to be determined.
Contributions to local chapters of the lymphoma/leukemia society or the humane society in her memory would be appreciated.
