Jay Wellington Rockwood, 68, of Woodinville, WA passed away on July 24, 2021 at Evergreen Health Hospice Center in Kirkland, WA after a valiant battle with cancer.
Jay was born on September 26, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Margaret Myers. He was later adopted by Dr. Charles H. Rockwood.
He married Nancy Ovenell in Seattle, WA on April 1, 1971, and had three children together: Kimberley Rockwood, Shelby Davis, and Erin Rockwood. He married Pamela Bogatin in 1989.
Jay graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle, WA and served honorably in the Air Force from 1971-1975 at Sheppard Air Force Base, TX. He received an Associate Degree from Bellevue Community College and attended the University of Washington.
Jay was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), and worked as a Marine Electrician at both Todd and Lockheed Shipyards. He worked as a machinist for a contractor in Afghanistan, and as an electrician at Boeing. He found his greatest career satisfaction at Boeing, proud to attend a specialized training with Prime Power Electricians to work on 26,000 VAC and 13,300 VAC sub-stations as recently as April 19, 2021.
Jay was known for his size, nearly 6’8” tall, and he had a personality to match. He was a master of words, enjoyed making people laugh, and remembered names and details that made you feel special when you spent time with him.
Jay is survived by his wife Pamela Rockwood of Woodinville, WA, and his first wife, Nancy Rockwood of Bellevue, WA, and their three children: Kimberley Rockwood of Auburn, WA; Shelby Davis of Bellevue, WA; and Erin Rockwood of Redmond, WA. He is also survived by his three grandchildren: Chloe Davis, Rock Lyle Ocasio, and Carter Griffin-Rockwood.
Jay is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Jay will be laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street, Kent, WA 98042, on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
