Devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and loyal friend, Kermit was 93. He was born January 17, 1928 to Mai Hong Eng and So Kay Lee in Seattle, Washington . He passed away August 7, 2021 with his family by his side.
Kermit lived a life well-lived that included military service in the Pacific Theater with the U. S. Army in WWII and in Korea during the Korean Conflict. After his service in the war, he married Virginia and they settled in Redmond, WA. They celebrated 53 years of marriage in July 2021.
Kermit is survived by his wife Virginia Eng, daughters Kimberly Eng (Gallagher – husband David); Paula Eng (Schwab – husband Scott), sons Matthew Eng (wife Sofia); Timothy John Eng (wife Angela); daughter-in-law Amy Eng; and grandchildren Kyle, Ashley, Alivia, Sean Gallagher, and Madison Schwab.
Kermit had a long career in the grocery business with his own two stores on Beacon Hill, Safeway Inc., and PCC. After retirement, Kermit enjoyed working part time driving a shuttle bus for three retirement homes, volunteering at church and Redmond Senior Center, walking his dog Harriet, and annual trips to Cannon Beach and Arizona.
Kermit just changed his address and graduated to his new permanent eternal home with his Lord and Savior.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)
Kermit will be dearly missed and will be remembered for his kindness, unique wit, and sweet nature. He was laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery on August 17, 2021.
