November 27, 1925 – November 30, 2021
Alindrina A. Mangubat, Adina, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2021 with her family by her side, from complications of COVID-19. She was born and raised in Dasmarinas, Cavite, The Philippines, where she became an elementary school teacher. In 1952, she married the love of her life, Pat Mangubat, who was serving in the US Navy.
As a US Navy wife, Adina traveled with her 3 children to many places including Yokosuka, Japan, Jacksonville, FL, New London, CT, and Charleston, SC before settling permanently in Seattle in 1964. She made many lifelong friends along the way.
After retiring from the Navy, Adina and Pat travelled the world to Europe, Asia and the Holy Land with their good friends, Ray and Lu Fragada. They built a retirement home in Dasmarinas and travelled there every year. After Pat passed away in 2002, Adina lived on her own for the first time in her life and became quite independent. She bought a condo in Renton and rode the bus wherever she needed to go.
In 2017, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and moved to assisted living at The Chateau at Valley Center in Renton where she received outstanding and compassionate care.
Adina was adored by everyone she met for her sweet disposition, generosity and her excellent cooking. She will be greatly missed and loved forever.
She was preceded in death by husband Pat. She is survived by her sister, Pacita, her children, Grace (Jon), Vikki (Bruce), and Tony (Susan), by grandchildren, Sam, Jade, Bryce, Alicia, Alex, Eleazar and Adina, and great grandchildren Camden, Hadley, Aurelia, Orion, and Luca. Adina is interred and reunited with her beloved Pat at Tahoma National Cemetery.
Our family would be greatly honored if you would consider donating a tribute gift to the Alzheimer’s Foundation ( in the name of Alindrina A. Mangubat.
