Caleb A.Tarleton
Caleb A. Tarleton, a loving, generous and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and neighbor with a heart of gold, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2022. Born in Fairmont, West Virginia on October 23, 1936, to Arban and Helen Tarleton, youngest of 3 sons.
He graduated from West Virginia University with a BSME in 1959. Caleb proudly served in the US Army during the cold war from 1959-1967 and departed his career as a Captain. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Johnson Controls from 1959-1999. He was an active member of the NW Hobie Cat Association Fleet 95 and board member at Sail Sand Point from 2002-2014, including serving as president of the board during a portion of this time period.. Caleb loved family travels, that included trips to Sun Valley, Whistler, Mt. Bachelor, Mission Ridge and yearly visits to Maui with family and close friends Paul and Donna Turner.
In high school, Caleb worked at the family farm, loved cars, hydroplanes and boating on the Tygart. He was an avid sailor and spent countless hours supporting all the activities at Sail Sand Point and competing at regional and national Hobie Cat regattas with his son and grandson. Caleb loved cheering on, rain or shine, the sporting events, camps and school programs for his children and grandchildren. He attended dance, theater, band concerts, cross country, cheer, soccer, basketball, volleyball and Dad/Grandpa weekends at WSU. He attended yearly family reunions in West Virginia, bringing his son, daughter and grandchildren over the years. His home on Lake Sammamish was the summer gathering place for family reunions and get-togethers with friends. He was active in the neighborhood community, repairing docks, launching boats and being the neighborhood historian. Caleb loved telling stories and asking questions, he wanted to know about people’s history, what made them tick and particularly bonding with the younger generations.

Survived by his brother, Jim Tarleton, son Tom Tarleton, his wife Cassie and children Daniel and Darby. His daughter Nancy Glass, and her husband Steve and children Kristina and Rachel, and a loving network of extended family and friends.
Preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret of 56 years, parents Arban and Helen Tarleton, brother Bill, and sister-in-law Mimi Tarleton.
The Mass celebrating his life will be at St. Joseph Church, 220 Mountain Park Blvd SW, Issaquah, WA at 11:00AM on 3/25/2022. A lunch reception will follow at St. Joseph Church. His service will be live streamed. Please visit this link . Streaming will begin at the start of the service.

Family, Friends and Faith are what mattered most to Caleb.
Caleb and his wife Margaret will be joined together for eternity at Tahoma National Cemetery at a future date, to include full military honors.
