William Barnes
William Barnes, 68, of Seattle, passed away on October 19, 2023, from Gastrointestinal Cancer. He is predeceased by his father Herbert Barnes, mother Rebecca Barnes, sister Laura Barnes, son William Barnes Jr., and daughter Theresa Barnes, and left behind his daughter Patricia Barnes, sons Joseph and Michael Barnes, ex-wife Patti Barnes, sister Marti Barnes, and brothers Byron and Bob Barnes, along with many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
William Barnes was born in Seattle on August 12th, 1955. He graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to join the U.S. Air Force. After finishing his time in the Air Force, he became a cook, and eventually found his passion doing construction and house remodels.
William Barnes was a devoted father, and nothing brought him more joy than watching his kids grow up and follow not only his example, but his parents’ example to help the people around them. In Willy’s last days he was asked, “if you had one piece of advice that you never want anyone to forget, what would it be?” and his response was simply, “always remember to help people.” While we will never truly get over the unexpected loss of such an amazing father, sibling, and friend, we thank creator for the time we were blessed with him here, and hope that everyone thrives to carry on his legacy of helping people.
