Judy Hoppock

January 10, 1941 – June 8, 2024

Judy Yvonne Hoppock (Schrock) was born on January 10, 1941, in Miles City, Montana. She was the beloved daughter of Ralph Edward Schrock and Ellen Ruth Schrock. When Judy was three years old, her family moved to Kimball, Idaho, where they ran a dairy farm and raised sugar beets and potatoes. Judy, along with her older sister Nona, embraced farm life with early mornings milking cows and days filled with school and chores. Despite the hard work, Judy and her siblings found joy in fishing, picnicking, ice skating, bike riding, and snow sledding.

By the time Judy left home and married at the age of 17, she had five brothers and sisters. In 1959, Judy moved to Montana, and by 1961, she was the proud mother of three small children: Sanoa Thomas, Yvonne Sutliff (Thomas), and Linden Thomas. In 1971, she and her children moved to Twin Falls, ID, where she remarried and was blessed with two more children, John Mays and Jody Isaacson (Mays).

Judy resided in Twin Falls until 2009, when she moved to Kennewick, WA, to live with her partner Lonnie Mays until his passing. In 2021, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and relocated to Kirkland, WA, to be closer to her daughter, Jody (husband Mike and grand children Quinn and Eva) and to receive treatments. At the time of her passing, Judy was residing at Bellevue Garden (formerly known as The Garden Club) in Bellevue, WA. She was recently baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness.

Known for her boundless energy and positivity, Judy loved to study the Bible, play Bingo, read, socialize, and knit. She took immense pride in her children and ten grandchildren, sharing their pictures and accomplishments with anyone who would listen. Judy was adored by the residents and staff at The Garden Club, Fred Hutch Cancer Center, her church community, her friends, and especially her family.

Judy is survived by her partner, Harry Stevens and her children: Sanoa Thomas, Yvonne Sutliff, Linden Thomas, John Mays, and Jody Mays Isaacson. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Nona Ballard, Dannette Rasmussen, Dan Schrock, Rex Schrock, and Joe Schrock.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bellevue Garden Club 13350 SE 26th St, Bellevue, WA 98005; Date: Sunday, June 30, 2024;
Time: 1:30 – 4:00

Judy’s family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Bellevue Garden, the Fred Hutch Cancer Center, Evergreen Hospice Center, and her church community for their unwavering support and care.

May Judy’s spirit of kindness and joy continue to inspire all who knew her.
