Todd Matthew Manoli’s journey ended early in the morning of July 20, 2024. He was 48 years old. Todd died peacefully at his home in Shoreline, WA, in the arms of his husbands and caregivers, Mark Smith and Matty Farnsworth, and his beloved kitties, Chip and Loki, which is exactly how Todd wanted it. Todd battled multiple myeloma for 7 long years and was under hospice care for his last 9 days.
Todd was born on March 29, 1976, in Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, to Jane Matson and Richard Manoli. He was born at an army hospital while his dad served there. Todd also lived in Kansas, California, and then Washington. During his early grade school years, he lived in Spokane, and then moved to Renton when he was 10 years old. Todd excelled in school and played the violin in orchestra, and later took up piano. When he practiced piano the kids at the daycare next door would come out and listen. Todd also had a passion for live music and reading. Everyone that knew him knew that he loved attending live concerts and Broadway musicals, and he saw many through the years in Washington, Las Vegas, and New York. Todd loved to read at a very early age and often read multiple books at a time. His knowledge was unbelievable.
Todd loved life and he fought courageously these past seven years. On his last post on Facebook, he simply said, “When you know you know”.
The family would like to thank Fred Hutchinson Cancer Care (formally Seattle Cancer Care Alliance) and UW Medical Center for the excellent care Todd was given. I remember he would sit in the waiting room overlooking Lake Union and comment about the different seasons with the changing of the leaves on the trees.
Todd was an only child but had many friends. Everyone that ever met Todd fell in love with him. He had that way about him that was infectious. He brought so many smiles to people’s lives.
Todd, you will be missed by all.
