Maryann Wright
Maryann Wright, a beloved mother, grandmother, and lifelong learner, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024.
Born in Yakima, Washington, to Henry Patrick Koreski and Loretta Mary Harris, she was the youngest of four siblings. She was baptized on August 15th at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. She attended St. Paul Elementary School in Yakima, and Holy Rosary School in Moxee City. She graduated from Providence Academy in Vancouver, Washington in 1955.
Her adult journey began with a calling to religious life, entering the Sisters of Providence at 18. However, life had other plans, and she married William Denis Wright in 1963. A woman of many talents,
Maryann raised six children while pursuing her education and career. Graduating alongside her daughter Carolyn, she earned her Bachelor of Arts from Seattle University, as well as a librarian technician degree from Clover Park vocational college. Her professional life as a market research librarian at Weyerhaeuser reflected her passion for knowledge.
Maryann’s adventurous spirit led her to live in various Washington cities before settling in DuPont for her retirement years. In her final year, she lived happily at the Chateau Pacific Senior Living Facility in Lynnwood, where she was embraced by the fun-loving community and made meaningful friendships. She was an avid world traveler, a voracious reader, and an unbeatable Jeopardy contestant. Her love for fine arts and opera enriched her life and those around her.
A devout Catholic throughout her life, Maryann’s faith was a cornerstone of her character. She leaves behind a legacy of love, embodied in her twelve grandchildren who adored her. Maryann’s zest for life, unwavering faith, and boundless love will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
She is survived by her children & their spouses, Denis & Leanne Wright, Mary & Jim Leise, Jerry & Eva Wright, Lora & Ramesh Appat, Carolyn & Kerry Fidler, Ann Williams & fiancé Dan Stonehouse. Also her 12 grandchildren, Anna, Melissa, Cara, Andrew, Emily, Lewis, Leo, Victor, Riley, Macy, Simon and Zayd.
