Jan Curtis Weber

 

Jan Curtis Weber 73, passed away on February 5, 2025 at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland Washington.

Jan was born July 30, 1951 in Gering Nebraska to Robert and E. Gail Weber where he attended public school. Jan worked on the Weber farm raising beans and corn until he went away to attend University of Idaho.  Jan graduated Gering High School 1969.  Then he  joined the Air Force ROTC and attended University of Idaho.  He was appointed Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force in May 1973. Jan earned Bachelor of Science in Business in 1973, from University of Idaho.  He attended City University and earned a Master in Business Administration in 1990.  In 1993 he was certified in Production and Inventory Management (APICS). Jan then attended City University and earned a Graduate certificate in Project Management in 2003.  Jan received a Master in Science from City University in March 2005.

Jan worked in various positions including Sundstrand (10 years).  He started working at Boeing in 1997.  He was part of a layoff in 2002; however he returned to Boeing and worked another 18 years as an Industrial Engineer on the Boeing 787 Aircraft at the Everett Plant. Jan retired from Boeing in 2021.

Jan married Leslie in December 2001. He loved and cared for his three step children, Gregory Sherman (Amber), Thomas Sherman (Nora) and Cecilia Lukesh (Jon). He was blessed with ten grandchildren, Devin, Maguire, Jack, Ian, Noah, Tavin, Liv and Evie, Samantha and Marcus.  Jan taught his step children and grandchildren the value of faith, hard work, education and patriotism.  Survivors include Jan’s brothers and their children. Jan was very close to his brothers Mark and Kurt – Mark and Melissa Weber of Melbourne Florida, Kurt and Vicki Weber of Gering Nebraska, and also nieces and nephew Pricilla, Natalie, Neil, Andrea, Rebecca and Jessica.

Jan will be missed by his lifelong friends, Steve Kelly, Bill and Karna Feldner, and Marcus and Suzanne Gerlach.

Jan enjoyed church, sailing, fishing, hiking, politics, motor-home adventures and gardening.  He especially loved his boxers (dogs).  Over the years his dogs were Heidi, Everett, Charlie, Max, Mac and Mel.
