Patricia Ann Ahern, aged 83, of Redmond, WA, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2024. Born on September 8, 1940, in New York to Joseph and Rita Nilan, Patricia, affectionately known as Pat, was a dedicated nurse known for her passion and commitment to her patients.
In 1962, she married William F. Ahern, with whom she had four wonderful children. A testament to her strength, Pat was a twenty-year survivor of a brain aneurysm. She found joy in cooking, knitting, needlepoint, and reading and was deeply involved in her volunteer work with Trilogy for Kids, supporting the needs of children in the greater Seattle area. Above all, Pat cherished time spent with her family and friends.
Pat will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. She is survived by her children, Michael Ahern, Carol Burns (Tom), and Theresa Kirby; her grandchildren, Steven Zech (Michelle), Nicole Ahern, Michelle Ahern, Adam Kirby (Angelina), Kevin Burns, Daniel Kirby, and Juliet Ahern; her great-grandchildren, Atlas and Autumn Kirby; and her sisters, Christine Tobak and Catherine Miceli. She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Ahern, and her son, William G. Ahern.
A funeral service will be held at St. Jude’s Catholic Church on June 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
