Patricia G. Armstrong, 82, died June 1, 2012 in Redmond, WA. She was born March 25, 1930 in Chambersburg, PA to Grant and Florence Gsell. Pat loved music and demonstrated that love through her talents of playing the organ and piano. Pat and her beloved husband of 61 years, Wilbur, lived in Chambersburg, PA until they retired to Redmond, WA to be close to their children and grandchildren.
Pat was a 1948 graduate of Chambersburg High School and a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Marion, PA. After studying organ at Wilson College, she served as Organist and Choir Director of Salem for 36 years. She chaired the Salem Worship and Music Committee and also served as a member of the American Guild of Organists and the Lutheran ELCA. Pat held secretarial positions at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg Engineering Company, Salem Lutheran Church and Letterkenny Army Depot.
Pat is survived by her husband, Wilbur E. Armstrong, two daughters, Cinda J. Brand of Kirkland, WA and Dawna L. Capps and her husband Mark Capps of Sammamish, WA, and three grandchildren, Emily B. Haas and her husband Stephen Haas of Kirkland, WA, Zachary M. Brand, of Wincester, VA and Taylor R. Capps of Bellingham, WA. Pat was preceded in death by a son, Robyn G. Armstrong.
