Richard Joseph Lindsay

Richard Joseph Lindsay of Kent Washington died May 19, 2017 in Bellevue Washington. He was 46 years old.

Richard was born November 7, 1970 in Santa Cruz California. His mother moved he and his sister to the northwest in 1974 and moved around northern Washington before settling in the Silver Lake area of Everett. The family then moved to Kent Washington in 1977 where Richard grew up with his sister Michelle and parents Shirley and Michael. Richard attended Kent Continuation High School and eventually earned his GED and then later earned an Associates of Science Degree from Renton Vocational in 2010.

Richard had many pursuits in his life. As a youngster he showed promise as an athlete. He played little league baseball and Jr. football. The family loved being involved with Kent Junior Football club for several years. In 1985/86 Richard played city league baseball for Kent and in 1997 he play semi pro football for the Seattle Panthers. In 1999 Richard became a member of the Pacific Northwest Wrestling Association where he was known as The Hollywood Stud! During this time he also became a passionate body builder, a sport he pursed until his dying day.

Professionally Richard showed promise as a journeyman plumber in his early 20’s.
After earning his AS degree he started an IT and security of computer systems company called RJL Consulting. The last few months of Richard’s life he was a passionate member of the Bellevue Presbyterian Church. At Bellevue Pres he was an active volunteer with Auto Angels and devoted himself totally to improving his life.

Richard is survived by his two sons Kyle (26) of Billings, MT and Shane (21) of Bellevue, his mother Shirley of Kent and Step Father Michael of Renton. His sister Michelle and brother in law Scott of Ballard also survive Richard as well as niece Lindsay (19) and nephew Jackson (15). 8 first cousins, several aunts and uncles and many other family members in Santa Cruz also survive him. His biological father Richard Lindsay preceded Richard in death in 2010 at the age of 58.

Richard will always be remembered for his fearless sense of adventure! He loved a good time more than anyone. Richard was passionate about body building, healthy food (at extra large amounts) sunshine, boating, fast cars, pretty girls and being the life of the party. Richard had an infectious laugh, great sense of humor and engaging smile. His willingness to help others will also be remembered. Richard was always on the search for the next adventure and if he found a new interest or pursuit, he would give it 200%! Richard was also a curios and avid reader, always loving to be the expert on ALL subjects.

Though he ran out of time in the end, Richard was always willing to start over, to do better and to try to be the best. His family and friends are heartbroken that his life was cut so short.

There will be a celebration in Richard’s honor on July 1, 2017 Mt. Baker Rowing and Sailing Center 3800 Lake Washington Boulevard S. 5-9p.m.
