We are heartbroken to share that Rod Robinson has peacefully passed away at home in Kirkland, WA from a short battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Friday, March 11, 2022.
Rod was born in Walla Walla, Washington to parents Pauline (Frost) & David Robinson. The family moved to Mercer Island, Washington where Rod grew up & graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1966. He then went on to be a proud husky & graduated from the University of Washington in 1970. Rod graduated in 1974 from Northwestern School of Dentistry in Chicago, IL. He served two years active duty as a Lieutenant in the Navy at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Rod practiced dentistry in Redmond for nearly 40 years. He was a member of the Richard Tucker Gold Study Club. He was a beloved professor at UW school of Dentistry in the Restorative Department for over 30 years. He truly loved teaching.
For over 45 years he was a faithful member at St. John’s Episcopal church in Kirkland. He loved coaching youth baseball for many years & was active in the Boys & Girls club. He was a humble servant that didn’t want any recognition.
His passions in life involved travel, gardening, cooking & spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
Rod is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marilyn, his son, Colin (Kate) & grandchildren, Presley & Kellen, his daughter, Mallory Santoy (Gene) & grandchildren, Charlie & Elena, his sisters Pam Riley (Bob) & Cindy Dulcich. Along with his nieces, nephews, brothers & sister-in-law. He is proceeded in death by his mother, father and brother-in-law, Thomas Dulcich.
A celebration of life will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 105 State Street, Kirkland, WA 98033, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11:00am. All are welcome. Please leave any comments or stories you would like to share about Rod in the comments section.
