Rose Laureen West , a cherished resident of Carnation, Washington, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, with her loved ones by her side, after a courageous battle against cancer.
A Life Well Lived
Born in Kirkland, Washington, Rose spent most of her life in the quaint town of Carnation, Washington. Her warm smile, generous spirit, incredible wink, and playful nature could light up any room and touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.
For many years, Rose was a laundry assistant at the Kwik’N Cleaner Laundry & Dry Cleaning in Bellevue, Washington. Shortly thereafter, Rose was an entrepreneur of the local, favorited hangout in Carnation, the Cedar Log Tavern for a brief but memorable period. Later in life, she pursued a new path as a hospital operator at Evergreen Hospital where she would lean on her many skills including her high work ethic, patience, and unwavering compassion. Additionally, Rose loved spending time with her many nieces and nephews, siblings, extended family, and friends. She extended her love, warmth, and wit into these cherished relationships.
An Adventurous Soul
Rose’s adventurous spirit led her to explore the rugged beauty of the Northwest. She always enjoyed the comfort and warmth of a campfire at base of the Rocky Mountains in Montana, surveyed the windswept sand dunes and beach of Coos Bay, Oregon, and ultimately found her true solace in the crashing waves and salty air on the tranquil shores of Neah Bay, Washington.
Remembering Rose
Rose leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Marjorie West. Surviving Rose is her companion, Donald Bergquist; her sisters, Rena Schmitt (Brian) and Lora West; and her brother, Clinton West (Karen). Rose’s nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Celebration of Life
A celebration of Rose’s life will take place at Tolt MacDonald Park (31020 NE 40th St, Carnation, Wa) on August 11th 2024 from 11AM to 2PM. Family, friends, and all who knew her are invited to join in honoring her memory. The final resting place for Rose will be in Neah Bay, Washington.
As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Rose not with sadness, but with gratitude for the joy she brought into our lives. Her gentle kindness and radiant warmth will remain in our hearts always.
